Lost and Found Ohio is a website focused on four primary areas: cemetery monument/gravestone photography with a focus on design and overall style; urban/rural exploration of forgotten or abandoned places; investigations of the unexplained, legends and the paranormal; and history in the eastern region of central Ohio. Please see below for a more in-depth explanation of what we do...

Cemetery Photography:

Mapping out trips to well-maintained and abandoned cemeteries to photograph the general scene, monument styles, and monument symbolism. This is not to be disrespectful to those laid to rest in each cemetery but to bring attention again to old monument styles and to research the symbols and markings on each marker and also to draw attention to cemeteries that may have been forgotten and fallen into disrepair.

Urban/Rural Exploration:

Most of what we have on our site are anonymous user contributed photos of abandoned buildings or forgotten places throughout Ohio. Don't worry, we have attorneys and will not post any identifying address markings that will lead vandals to empty buildings. For our trips permission is obtained, however due to the anonymous nature of our photo submission policies there is no way for us to guarantee those making contributions are following our rules, however we expect this and do not condone trespessaing and especially not vandalism. Vandalism destroy's history and that defeats the purpos of this website, which is to preserve history and make sure it isn't forgotten. If you would like to make a contribution we will provide an anonymous upload form within a few weeks to allow you the ability to do that. Our old system is now down.

The Unexplained, Paranormal, & Legends:

This is probably the subject we have the most fun with. We actually go out into the field and perform investigations of reports of the paranormal, age old legends, and the unexplained using as much of the latest technology we can get our hands on and drag along any experts we can find in each area to help us out. We will document this research, provide our data, and log pictures in our gallery for each investigation. Right now our recent visit to the Mansfield Reformatory is in the gallery. If you want to report paranormal activity, a legend we should research or some kind of unexplained phenomena or even you'd like us to investigate send one of us an email at the addresses in the "contact us" link to the left. We won't tell anybody who you are or where you are if you're worried about privacy. It's a gurantee.

History (Coshocton, Knox, Licking, & Muskingum Counties):

This is another fun topic. In the future we hope to have an in-depth cache of historical information, photos, stories from people who lived through local historical events, and any contributions provided by local or former residents. This history will include everything from disasters to visiting political dignitaries. It will go back as far as we are able to find reliable data. If you want to help us with this please send an email to us at the addresses in on the "contact us" page.

Founder Profiles Will Soon Follow Below Along With A Statement From Each About Why They Are Interested In These Topics...
